The Honourable

Mr. F. H. May, C.M.G.,

Colonial Secretary.

Sir,

We have the honour to bring to your notice

the following facts:-

On the 22nd day of February, 1906, an action was commenced by us, on behalf of Lam Sin Shang and She Wai Chung against one O Yik Tong, to recover a sum of $13,165.27

An appearance was entered for the Defendant by Solicitors in this Colony, pleadings were filed, and eventually the action came on for trial on the 15th day of May, 1907, when the Defendant, who was represented by his Solicitors and Counsel, personally attended and gave evidence

No question was, or could have been, raised as to the jurisdiction of the Court.

On the 29th day of May, 1907, judgment was delivered for our Clients, the Plaintiffs, with costs.

The Defendant is resident in Macao, and, though formerly possessed of property in the Colony, now owns none here, but is possessed of very considerable property in Macao.

The judgment still remains unsatisfied, and it is desired to enforce it against the Defendant, by the attachment of his property or otherwise, in Macao.

By the laws of all civilized Countries a judgment obtained in an action brought before a Court of competent jurisdiction in one country will be enforced in another, more especially if the Defendant in that action has fully submitted to the jurisdiction, and has personally appeared to defend
